FAQs

Broadstripe is working hard to enhance our network, now powered by WOW! Internet, to provide additional entertainment options and more reliable, faster-than-ever-speeds. As part of these upcoming changes, additional channels in our lineup will be transitioned to a digital platform on April 7, 2021. This transition will ensure we are providing the highest quality viewing experience to all of our customers.

Below are some common questions about how this change may affect you as a customer.

When will this change occur?

  • The channel transition will take effect on April 7, 2021.

How do I know if my programming will be affected?

  • If you currently have a television with a built-in digital tuner, you will still be able to view these channels. The only action needed is to rescan for the new channel numbers on April 7th. If your television does not have a digital tuner, you will need to take steps to continue to receive programming on these channels.

I don’t know if my TV has a digital tuner.

  • The vast majority of televisions sold in the past 10 years have a built-in tuner. If your television was purchased in recent years you are more likely to have a compatible television.
  • The best way to confirm if you have a built-in tuner is to check your owner’s manual or the manufacturer’s website for a reference to a digital tuner.
  • Another way to confirm if you have a built-in tuner is to look at the back of your television for an RF cable connection as shown below. If this connection is present, your TV should have a built-in tuner.

What do I need to do to continue watching the channels?

  • Rescan
      • If you already have a built-in digital tuner, you simply need to rescan for the new channels on April 7th. Below are some basic instructions on how to find these steps in your own television menu, or you can view a short video HERE.
        1. Find the remote that came with your TV.
        2. Press Menu.
        3. Locate a “Channel”, “TV”, “Settings”, or “Setup” option.
        4. Select “Auto Tune”, “Auto Scan”, “Auto Program”, “Search for channels” or similar terminology.
        5. Select Cable – Digital/Analog if possible.
        6. Allow up to 30 minutes for the search to complete.
  • Digital TV
    • Should you decide that a new, compatible television is in your future to view these, and any future digital channels, be certain to check that the TV has a built-in tuner.
  • Equipment Options
    • If the above solutions are not options for your home, we can work with you to provide a Broadstripe digital receiver. Simply CONTACT US via our online form and a representative will connect with you to discuss equipment solutions.
  • Online
    • Many channels can be streamed from the programmer’s website by simply using your Broadstripe username and password.

Do I have any other options?

  • The good news is you have a lot of choices for how you view entertainment. You may be able to save money and watch the same TV shows, sports and movies that you love when you switch to streaming TV. All it takes is your Broadstripe Internet and a subscription from one of our streaming partners.
  • We make it easy to switch. Compare Streaming TV Partners or give us a call to discuss your options.
